NorCalDBS.org Website The folks in the banner at the top of this page are (from left to right): Barbara Boone, Gwen Cooper, Sherrin Grout, Donn Marinovich and Sue Horn. These folks invite you to the next scheduled activity for the NorCalDBS group - SONORA CHRISTMAS PARADE. This event will be held in Sonora on Friday following Thanksgiving, November 24th. This is a parade event only and is usually held at twilight so that all entrants into the parade route are lit up with Christmas lights. For further information please contact Donn Marinovich at (209) 533 - 3663 or donncharles1@gmail.com
Another note, if any of you find other interesting events occurring near your locale, please contact the WEB Master regarding these particular events. An example could be a local Christmas Parade that invites antique vehicles to participate, or local swap meets or even local Show and Shine Auto events like the one to be held in Arbuckle on October 29. Again, please let your WEB Master know about these events. Thanks you for your participation.

Past Activities in 2016

the TURLOCK (Winter) SWAP MEET on January 28, 2017. The NCDBS was at Aisle "J" Spaces #41 and 43 (on the paved area). The location of the SWAP meet is at the corner of Fulkerth @ Golden Gate Blvd.

ANNUAL KICK-OFF AND POTLUCK PICNIC MEET The Annual Kick-Off and Potluck Meeting was held on March 26, 2017 at the Amador Valley Community Park in Pleasanton, Calif. The Park is located off Santa Rita Road at 4455 Black Road. We met at the South West corner of the park behind the Swim Center. Once the pot-luck was over we held a Nor Cal DBS Business Meeting. Donn Marinovich presented the Membership and Treasurers Report. Elaine Gong presented the Presidents message. The Gong family presented the information regarding the Lazy River Tour IX. Tom Barham presented the information regarding the National Tour in Temecula this coming summer. Mike Sordello accepted the responsibility to host the Fall Tour out of Morgan Hill this year. We were supposed to be joined this year by Kelly Ann Conway and Sean Spicer was going to give a briefing - but this did not happen due to previous engagements. Nancy Pelosi and Kamala Harris were also due, but again, previous engagements caused conflicts.

NATIONAL DODGE BROTHERS MEET The National DB Meet was held on June 18 through June 24 out of Temecula, California. Tour Chairman Bill Leuer hosted the event.

DANVILLE 4th OF JULY PARADE The NCDBS participateD in the annual Danville 4th of July Parade based out of the Stadelhofer abode in Alamo. There WAS a potluck luncheon and BBQ following the parade. The only mishap was the failure of the fuel pump in the Gong's Screenside which occurred about 1/3 of the way through the parade. However, with a tow strap connected to Travis Barhams 1924 Touring Car, the Screenside was towed through the remainder of the parade. The diagnosis was that the fuel pump was not delivering fuel from the tank to the carbuerator. This was confirmed once the vehicle was back home in the garage and a new fuel pump, regulator and fuel lines were connected internal to the Screenside. The Screenside crew wish to thank all of the Stadelhofers and the rest of the attendees for helping to get the non-functional Screenside off the Stadelhofer drive-way and onto the tow trailer enabling us to get it back to West Sacramento.

The GREAT GATSBY FESTIVAL - TALLAC NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE. This is a Great Gatsby Festival and includes the Northern California Dodge Brothers and Sister's 20's - 30's Era Cars and was held August 12 and 13. It included Period Costumes for all NCDBS participants and THF personnel and is a Benefit Event for the Tahoe Historical Foundation. It is based in South Lake Tahoe off of HWY 89 near Camp Richardson. This was well attended by the public and the NCDBS. Put the second weekend in August on your calendar and join in the fun in future years.

ART DECO Society - GATSBY AFTERNOON. This is a Great Gatsby event and includes the Northern California Dodge Brothers and Sister's 20's - 30's Era Cars and was held on Sunday, September 10.. It included Period Costumes for all NCDBS participants and all who are in attendance and is sponsored by the ADSC.

IRONSTONE CONCOURS d'ELAGANCE. This charity car show is for the benefit of the 4-H and FFA clubs of central California. There were more than 350 cars of various marques on display at the Ironstone Winery grounds in Murphys California. Due to the fact that members of the NCDBS were late in getting their applications posted, the regular "DODGE" category was dis-banded and we were forced to be included into other categories aside from Dodge. However, we did have Howard and Joan Edsons 1915 Touring car, Barbara and Herman Boones 1933 LC Pickup, Donn Marinovich with Sherrin Grouts 1962 Power Wagon and the Gong clans 1935 4-door sedan were on display. Of course Kevin and Tina Bradley of the NCDBS displayed their 1931 Hudson straight 8 coupe. It was a glorious affair and everyone had a great time at this event.

SORDELLO'S FALL TOUR. This event was held out of Morgan Hill and circulated around the South Bay on Saturday and Sunday of Oct.7 and 8. The following NCDBS members were known to participate: Roger and Lynne Gong, Tina and Kevin Bradley, Donn Marinovich and Sherrin Grout, Barbara and Herman Boone, Tom and Sharon Barham and Travis and Julia Barham. It was a hoot.

As a reference guide, Donn Marinovich has put together a fairly complete list of reference materials. Click on the DB Ref Mat'l pdf on the left hand side of this page to access this data.
